About the role

We are excited to offer an opportunity for a highly motivated Country Manager to join our Solomon Islands team in a fast -paced and supportive environment. The Country Manager plays a pivotal role in driving the overall success and growth of our operations in the region. This strategic leadership position is focused on ensuring operational excellence, fostering revenue and profit growth, and maintaining compliance with insurance law and regulations.

To achieve these goals, you will need to challenge the status quo and redefine traditional approaches. You will also need to foster stakeholder relationships, ensure risk assessment, and product development.

This is a management position in the organization that reports directly to Group COO. You will work closely with all areas with the Capital Insurance Group to deliver outstanding outcomes and long-term performance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Manage Operations
  • Oversee day-to-day operations and ensure efficient and effective functioning of the team, including underwriting and claims.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to enhance productivity and streamline process.
2. Oversee Integration
  • Ensure smooth integration of new initiatives and projects into existing operations.
  • Foster collaboration and communication across the business to achieve cohesive and integrated business processes
3. Revenue & Profit Growth
  •  Develop and execute strategies to drive revenue and profit growth in alignment with the Group’s goal.
  •  Identify and capitalize on business development opportunities in the Solomon Island market.
4. Manage Claim
  • Supervise and optimize the claims management process to ensure timely and fair resolution.
  • Advise clients on available products and services, providing recommendations based on their needs
  • Implement measures to reduce claim cost and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Stay updated on company policies, procedures and insurance industry regulations to support customers and the operations effectively.
5. Insurance Product
  • Work closely with product development teams to understand market needs and contribute to the creation of innovative insurance product in line with the Group strategy.
  • Ensure product offering align with customer demands and regulatory requirements.
6. Insurance Law & Regulations
  • Stay abreast of changes in insurance laws and regulations in Solomon Island
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legal requirements and maintain a thorough understanding of the regulatory landscape.
7. Risk Management
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies to safeguard company’s interest.
  • Identify Assess and mitigate operational and strategic risk.
8. Reinsurance
  • Manage reinsurance relationships and agreements to optimize risk distribution.
  • Ensure alignment with company goals and compliance with reinsurance contracts.

About you

  •  Proven track record of successful leadership at the Senior Leadership level in insurance
  •  Strong understanding of insurance products, markets and regulatory environment.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skill with the ability to foster relationships at all levels.
  • Demonstrate experience in driving financial performances and achieving growth targets.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration finance, insurance or related field. Master’s degree is preferred.
  •  Proven experience in Leadership role within the insurance industry, with a focus on managing operations in a similar market.
  • In-depth knowledge of insurance laws and regulations in Solomon Islands.
  • Strong understanding of risk management claims processing, and reinsurance.
  • Professional insurance qualifications (desirable)
