About the role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Finance Business Partner to lead payments and payroll administration for the CIGL group of companies. Reporting directly to the Financial Reporting Manager, this role is essential in supporting the achievement of CIGL’s business goals from a finance perspective. Key responsibilities include processing fortnightly salaries, updating leave information, posting payroll journals and managing payables administration and related queries. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with financial policies and driving efficient operations across the organization.
Key responsibilities:
- Payroll administration and queries
- Maintaining fortnightly pay schedules and updating MYOB to generate payroll verification
- Maintaining Leave information and calculations
- Processing supplier payments
- Assist Accounts Officer with Claims Payment
- Finance administrative tasks including reconciliation of credit card accounts and managing petty cash reimbursements
- Contacting vendors about transactions and invoices and handling queries relating to accounts.
About you:
- Ability to analyze complex financial issues, identify root causes and develop practical solutions that align with organizational goals.
- Skilled in managing vendor and stakeholder relationships, negotiating payment terms, and ensuring favorable outcomes for the organization while maintaining professionalism and compliance.
- Maintains high levels of accuracy in payroll processing, journal postings and financial reporting.
- Ensures compliance with policies and statutory requirements through meticulous review and verification.
- Capable of presenting financial information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum Diploma in Accounting (bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting will be an advantage).
- Completed or currently doing CAT or CPA PNG studies.
- At least 3–5 years of experience in finance, payroll, payroll processing software’s or account’s payable role
- Strong knowledge of IRC tax compliance, NASFUND superannuation contributions, and statutory reporting requirements.
