About the role:
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee, optimize, and strengthen day‑to‑day operational performance across the business. This role plays a critical part in ensuring efficiency, compliance, service excellence, and alignment between strategy and operational execution.
Reporting to the CEO-Fiji, the Operations Manager will lead operational oversight, manage performance governance, strengthen internal controls, and support cross‑functional coordination to achieve consistent service delivery and sustainable business growth.
Key responsibilities:
Operational Oversight & Process Workflow Management
- Oversee day‑to‑day operational activities across underwriting support, policy administration, claims coordination, and customer service.
- Ensure operational workflows are standardized, documented, and aligned with company policies and business objectives.
Performance Monitoring & KPI Management
- Develop, monitor, and report on key operational performance indicators to improve accountability and service delivery.
- Identify performance gaps and implement timely corrective actions.
Risk, Compliance & internal Controls
- Improve alignment and coordination between Distribution, Underwriting, Claims, and Finance to enhance delivery discipline.
- Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines, policies, regulatory requirements, and audit standards.
- Strengthen internal controls to reduce operational risk and ensure accuracy and service consistency.
Team Leadership & Capability Development
- Provide leadership, coaching, and structured performance management to operations staff.
- Support capability development through training, coaching, and succession planning.
Continuous Improvement & Strategic Execution
- Lead operational improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies and implementing workflow enhancements.
- Support system readiness and operational alignment for new products, distribution growth, and strategic initiatives.
Governance & Executive Reporting
- Prepare timely operational reports including KPI dashboards, risk updates, audit outcomes, and service performance trends.
- Provide data‑driven insights to support strategic decision‑making and business planning.
About You
- Strong leadership capability with proven experience managing operational teams.
- Ability to translate strategy into structured operational plans and disciplined execution.
- Strong analytical capability to interpret operational and financial data and implement improvements.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills across multiple business units.
- Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and operational pressures.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Operations, or a related field.
- 5–8 years of experience in operations management, preferably within insurance or financial services.
- Professional qualifications such as ANZIIF (Senior Associate) are an advantage.
- Experience developing and analysing KPIs, dashboards, and operational performance reports.
- Strong capability in risk management, internal controls, and compliance.
