About the role:
We are looking for a dedicated People & Culture Business Partner to manage the people functions for our PNG Shared Services and Solomon Islands operations. Reporting directly to the Senior Business Partner, this role is vital in developing and executing people strategies, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a positive work environment that drives employee engagement and productivity.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and drive strategic People & Culture initiatives to support organizational goals and foster a strong workplace culture
- Lead comprehensive recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes to attract and retain top talent aligned with business needs
- Provide expert guidance on HR policies and practices, ensuring clarity and consistency across management and staff levels
- Stay abreast of evolving legal and regulatory frameworks related to employment, proactively managing compliance to mitigate organizational risks
- Offer strategic advice, coaching, and operational support on HR matters to empower management and enhance employee engagement
- Oversee the implementation of performance management and appraisal systems to drive productivity and professional development
- Ensure precise management of time and attendance systems, maintaining compliance and operational efficiency
- Administer staff insurance policies and benefits plans, ensuring optimal coverage and employee well-being
- Manage staff exit, disciplinary, and termination procedures with sensitivity and adherence to legal and organizational standards
- Foster positive workplace relationships by collaborating with management and staff to improve morale, engagement, and retention
- Prepare comprehensive monthly HR reports for the Group Head of People & Culture to inform strategic decision-making
About you:
- Demonstrates a deep understanding of Employment Relations Acts and HR industry best practices, with the ability to apply this knowledge strategically
- Excels in building strong relationships through exceptional interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Skilled in interpreting and implementing legal and organizational policies to ensure compliance and operational effectiveness
- Meticulous attention to detail with a proven ability to deliver results within tight deadlines and under pressure
- Proactive and self-driven, with a demonstrated capacity to lead initiatives and see projects through to successful completion
Qualifications & Experience:
- Holds a relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a related discipline, underpinning your professional expertise
- Brings a minimum of 5 years’ experience in HR business partnering roles, ideally within a comparable industry environment
- Demonstrates a solid track record in HR management, encompassing talent acquisition, employee relations, and regulatory compliance, with a focus on delivering strategic HR solutions
