About the role:

We are seeking a passionate People & Culture Business Partner to oversee the People functions for our PNG Shared Services and Solomon Islands operations. Reporting directly to the Senior Business Partner, this role is vital in developing and executing HR strategies, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a positive work environment that drives employee engagement and productivity.

Key responsibilities:

  • Implement People & Culture strategies and initiatives
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment, selection, and on-boarding processes
  • Provide guidance and interpretation of HR policy to management and staff
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements related to employment and HR practices to mitigate risks
  • Offer advice, coaching, and support on HR matters to both management and employees
  • Execute performance management and appraisal systems
  • Manage time and attendance systems to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Administer staff insurance policies and plans
  • Coordinate staff exit, termination, and disciplinary processes
  • Collaborate with management and employees to improve workplace relationships, morale, and retention
  • Prepare monthly HR reports for the Group Head of People & Culture

About you:

  • Strong knowledge of Employment Relations Acts and HR best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to interpret and apply legal and organizational policies effectively.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Proactive, with the initiative to drive projects to completion.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in HR or related fields
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in HR roles, preferably within a similar industry
  • Proven experience in HR management, including recruitment, employee relations, and compliance.
