About the role:

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Branch Manager to lead our Direct team in Port Moresby. This pivotal role involves driving revenue growth, expanding market share, and strengthening distribution channels within the area. You will play a key role in establishing strategic partnerships, enhancing customer experiences, and positioning Capital Insurance Group as a regional leader in insurance. The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving premiums, improving profitability, and elevating brand recognition through relationship-building with business partners and individual customers.

 

Key responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the POM direct team to achieve revenue and growth targets
• Develop and implement strategies to expand and optimize the Direct and Agency Distribution channels across the area
• Cultivate and strengthen relationships with partners, brokers, and key industry players
• Drive customer acquisition, retention, and overall portfolio growth across General, Life, and Medical insurance segments
• Monitor financial performance, ensuring adherence to budgets while identifying new revenue opportunities
• Develop and execute strategic partnerships, including affinity collaborations, to enhance customer reach and experience
• Collaborate with internal teams to improve processes, systems, and operational efficiency to support business expansion
• Represent the company at industry forums and maintain active engagement with external distribution channels

 About you:

• Proven leadership experience in business development or sales within the insurance or similar industries
• Strong understanding of financial objectives, profitability, and market dynamics
• Exceptional relationship management skills with industry partners and customers
• Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, with strong analytical capabilities
• Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, and develop teams
• Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Qualifications & Experience:

• Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• A degree qualification in Business, Insurance, or related field
• Professional insurance qualification e.g., ANZIIF (an advantage)
• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in business development, sales, or insurance roles
• Strong network within the insurance industry and industry associations
