About the Role

CIG continues to expand hence we are looking for a suitable candidate to join our team in the Port Moresby office in Papua New Guinea or Suva office in Fiji. The potential candidate will be reporting to the Group Financial Controller and collaborate with reinsurance brokers, several internal departments to report and validate the accuracy of reinsurance ceded, reinsurance liabilities and reinsurance assets.

Responsibilities of this role will include:

• Liaising with various functions underwriters, claims adjusters, brokers, and finance.
•  Managing reinsurance claims reporting and recovery process.
•  Support reinsurance claims and accounting processes.
• Complete data analysis and reconciliations for quality control of claims attachment and premium registration.
• Communicate and resolve issues impacting efficient execution of ceded reinsurance programs.
• Produce accurate reporting for internal Finance and Claims teams.
• Assist in the preparation of papers and presentations for internal & board audiences.
• Overall function process monitoring and improvement.
• Ad-hoc Reinsurance related projects.

The ideal candidate must:

• 3-5 years’ experience in analytics function, preferably in the re/insurance industry.
• Re/insurance designations; degrees and/or certifications in data analytics, statistics, or accounting.
•  Strong understanding of reinsurance terminology & insurance products
•  Understanding of ceded reinsurance process from placement through to reporting.
•  Ability to compare data sources, reports, or results over time and prepare concise trend analysis and observations.
• Strong Organizational skills / verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with all Microsoft Office Products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
