About the role:
We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our finance team, reporting to the Finance Manager. The Senior Accountant will play a pivotal role in the finance department, responsible for financial reporting processes to ensure compliance with IFRS, regulatory requirements, financial planning and financial operation of the respective entities.
Key responsibilities:
- Month-End process –execute the month-end closing activities with accuracy while ensuring adherence of pre-established month-end deadlines.
- General ledger reconciliations – ensure timely and quality reconciliation of general ledger accounts and maintain the reconciliations process in the system.
- Credit Control – work closely with Credit Controller ensuring proper receipting, allocation and timely reporting.
- Process and system – ensure process documentation of monthly, quarterly and annual functions performed with checklist of deadlines and frequency in collaboration with Finance Manager. Take initiatives in enhancing processes and automation for repetitive tasks to improve timeliness, accuracy and quality of financial reports.
- Statutory financial reporting –preparation and delivery of statutory financial statement including management of the audit process to ensure alignment with external auditors.
- External audit – Support the management in year-end and interim audit processes. Coordinate with external auditors to clarify the scope, timing, and necessary audit evidence.
- Legal and regulatory compliance – Adhere to internal operating procedures and manage business risks. It is essential to follow CIG’s risk and compliance policies, procedures frameworks and regulatory obligations relevant to your specific position within the organization. In particular, the Senior Accountant is responsible for the timely submission of all regulatory returns for their respective entity.
- Ad hoc activities – as directed by the Finance Manager.
About you:
- Demonstrated ability to combine initiative and accounting knowledge to achieve required outcomes within required timeframe.
- Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong numeracy, analytical and conceptual skills.
- Ability to work with little to no supervision.
Qualifications:
- Qualified CPA or equivalent with at least 3 years’ experience
