About the role:

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior Claims Consultant to manage the day-to-day handling of complex and routine general claims. This important role involves ensuring accurate and timely claims decision-making, building strong client and broker relationships, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring extensive claims management experience, strong technical knowledge, and a commitment to service excellence.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage and execute complex and routine claims, ensuring adherence to service standards and regulatory requirements
• Make accurate claims decisions and conduct thorough investigations
• Build and maintain trusting relationships with clients and brokers
• Lodge claims onto the system accurately and promptly
• Stay current with industry knowledge, policy wordings, and legal/regulatory standards
• Support the Team Leader with various tasks and initiatives
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior claims staff
• Contribute to the improvement of claims systems, procedures, and customer service practices
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and service level agreements
• Prepare reports and insights on claims performance for management review

 About you:

• Proven experience in claims management, particularly with complex or high-value claims
• Strong analytical and investigative skills with attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex claims
• Customer-focused, solution-oriented, and integrity-driven
• Adaptable, quick learner, and able to work under pressure
• Demonstrates high work ethics and accountability

Qualifications & Experience:

• Tertiary qualification in Business, Finance, or related field preferred
• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in claims management or related insurance roles
• Relevant professional qualification such as ANZIIF Associate CIP (preferred)
• Strong understanding of insurance policies, legal and regulatory requirements
• Proficiency in claims management software and Microsoft Office Suite
