A fundamental quality of public health is its preventative nature. Prevention is far more effective and far less expensive than cure. This is the theme in the ‘Life In the Ward’ documentaries that focus on addressing some of the most pressing health issues in PNG from family planning to COVID-19.

In a bid to push for more public health and preventive awareness, PPH produced this 5-part series and hosted a screening of the second episode called ‘The Roll Out’ at Paradise Cinema on 19 August 2021.
The second episode highlighted the facts around the health benefits of being vaccinated and risks of not being vaccinated. It also showed the public’s perception on the vaccination and addresses important concerns in PNG’s health sector in general.

The initiative falls under Good Health and Wellbeing, which is a core theme CIG invests in and is a part of their Capital Outreach Programs. CIG Health Wellness is also a collaboration with PPH that focuses on shorter wellness and preventive messages.

The “Life in the Ward” series has been funded by PPH and produced by their production partners. CIG continues to support these wellbeing initiatives through their partners and programs that will help in securing the wellbeing of the communities they operate in with the aim to foster an environment where their people are empowered by these information to make a choice to live a better life.
