Does my workers compensation insurance cover me for Coronavirus related claims?
No, the cover is based on PNG workers compensation Act which only applies to occupational diseases as defined in the Act.
Does my travel insurance policy cover coronavirus related claims?
The policy will only cover medical expenses and travel cancellation costs incurred during your travel for any bookings made up to the date that COVID-19 was declared a global pandemic. Refer to your policy wording for coverage limit or speak to your local broker.
Does the ISR policy cover business interruption losses due to an infectious or contagious disease such as Coronavirus?
No. The policy only covers losses resulting from interruption with the business resulting from damage to insured property or property in the vicinity of which the premises form part of and caused by insured peril. For policies written under a wording other than Capital Insurance Standard ISR wording, please refer to your insurance broker.
Can I make any new claims related to COVID-19?
Unless otherwise excluded any claims related to COVID-19 will be covered under your existing policy. Capital has taken the decision to exclude Pandemic risks from all new and renewing policies going forward.
