Jeremy has been appointed to Group Chief Executive Officer effective 23rd of September 2021. Jeremy brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in insurance and leadership, gained from working within PNG and abroad. He has a strong technical, commercial, and leadership background with more than 20 years of insurance industry knowledge across a broad range of disciplines in both life and general insurance abroad and locally. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Norton previously held the position of Group COO at CIG. He was also Regional General Manager for Tower Insurance Pacific and has held other senior executive roles in the insurance industry.

Tichaona Mukandi was appointed Group Chief Financial Officer in June 2021. Tich brings a wealth of experience in technical accounting, audit, finance operations and financial reporting to the group. Prior to this appointment, he previously held the position of Audit Director at Deloitte, Papua New Guinea and has acquired over 14 years of combined experience in professional services and commerce, working across various sectors in Australia, Papua New Guinea, Zimbabwe and Timor-Leste. Tich is a Chartered Accountant and has a Bachelors Degree in Accounting from University of South Africa. He is currently a member of CPA PNG and the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.

Paulo joined Capital Insurance in 2004 and has over 14 years of experience in the Fiji, Tonga and Vanuatu Insurance markets. He has worked in various roles in the CIL business during this time and is an experienced leader in the business. Paulo has completed an MBA and is currently a Fellow of ANZIIF.

Talita joined Capital Insurance Group in 2018 and is the Group Manager, People & Culture. Talita has over 10 years of experience in human resources management. Before joining CIG, she was the People Performance and Culture manager at KPMG PNG and Assistant Group Human Resource Manager at NCS Holding Limited. Talita holds a Bachelor of Business Management, from Divine Word University, Papua New Guinea with professional certifications from PNG Human Resource Institute.

Zjokor initially joined CIG in September 2018 as a Risk & Compliance Officer. He was later promoted to Risk & Compliance Specialist before he took up his current role as Head of Risk & Compliance. He graduated with a Bachelor Business (Economics), University of Papua New Guinea in 2011. Zjokor has a professional career in the finance and insurance industry, working with Kina Bank as Fund Administration Project Manager for a couple years and spending time with Nasfund on special projects between 2017 and 2018.

Gau was appointed Country Manager of Capital Insurance SI in March 2019. He joined Capital Insurance in November 2016 where his immediate past role was the Group Technical Manager. Gau has worked in the local PNG insurance industry for over 30 years and has a strong technical background. He is a Senior Associate of ANZIIF.

Ilaivaha has 19 years in the local insurance industry with 2 years in the broker business working for local insurance broker. She has Bachelor of Arts (BA), Management Public Administration from the University of South Pacific. Ilaivaha is also a keen supporter Tongan Women Rugby and other programs that add value to the local community.

Thelma has 14 years of insurance experience. She is a Senior Associate and has a Diploma in General Insurance and Risk Management from ANZIIF. She is the vice president of Vanuatu Netball Association and provide support to women associations within the local community. These includes – Women and Girls in ICT, Women and Girls Network. Most recently Thelma has set up a new Women’s group LeiFenuah N’vate to help communities access vital services.
Mr. Koisen is the non – executive Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Capital Insurance Group. He is currently the Group CEO of Teachers Savings and Loan Society Limited and a non – executive director on the Board of Tisa Community Finance Ltd. He has served on various boards which include – Kumul Consolidated Holdings, Credit Corporation, Airlines PNG and National Airports Corporation. He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a Fellow of the Australian Mutual’s Institute, a Senior Associate of the Financial Services Institute of Australia. Mr. Koisen brings with him a wealth of business experiences and knowledge
Sundar Ramamurthy was the Founder & Managing Director of Data Nets Limited. Data Nets Limited was the largest ISP and computer networking company in the Pacific Islands covering both PNG and Fiji. Sundar has significant international experience in Asia, Australia, U.S. and Pacific Markets. Developed and gained considerable experience in dealing with diverse cultures, languages and markets. Following the sale of Data Nets to the Digicel Group in 2010, Sundar was engaged by IPBC (now KCH) for the National Transmission Network in 2012, prior to taking his role as Group CEO to turnaround bmobile-Vodafone in the mobil emarket in PNG and Solomon Islands in late 2013 following the recapitalisation of the company by the PNG Government in mid 2013. He completed the turnaround by early 2017. He is now involved in funding and mentoring new startup ventures, with a focus on new technologies in the mobile banking, secure payments environment and affordable solar markets.
Mark Vele was appointed as a non-executive director to the board of Capital Insurance Group in June 2020. He brings with him over 30 years of experience in general insurance having provided leadership and management in underwriting, loss adjusting, reinsurance and broking across the Pacific including Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, and Fiji. He also brings to the board strategic leadership as he is a commissioned officer for the Australian Army and serves as an insurance broker and advisor to corporate and commercial businesses, SMEs, and industry groups. As a former member of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIF), Mr Vele adds a great wealth of knowledge and technical expertise of the insurance industry to the board.
Mr Woolcott has over 20 years of experience in the accountancy and finance industry. He was appointed as a new director to the board of Capital Insurance Group in November 2020. He is currently a member of the Certified Practising Accountants of PNG (CPA PNG), a member of the Certified Practising Accountants of Australia and the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD). Over the years, he has worked as a senior accountant and CFO, chairman of an audit and risk committee, and a director. He holds a bachelor’s degree of Accounting and Business Management from the University of Sunshine Coast.
Joy joined Capital Insurance Group in June 2020 and serves as the Company Secretary. She is responsible for the Group’s Company Secretarial and Legal affairs on the board, its respective committees and across all subsidiaries. Joy brings a fresh perspective to the business, being admitted to the bar in 2017 and working with accredited institutions in the financial and construction industry in PNG. She has acquired working knowledge on company secretarial matters, criminal and commercial law through workshop participation and affiliations with various associations such as Australian Institute of Company Director, Queensland Bar and Victorian Bar. She holds a bachelors degree in law from UPNG and has reputable experience in both litigation and commercial fields.
Akae has been appointed to the Board of Capital Insurance Group Limited on 21 February 2022 having a strong background in the fields of Audit, Risk Management, Accounting and Statutory compliance. With over 20 years of experience, Akae is currently an Executive Director of Beach Accounting Advisory which provides Cloud Accounting & Consultancy services to its corporate clients.
Akae also holds a number of positions within the corporate sector which includes Treasurer of the Port Moresby Chamber of Commerce and Industry and a Volunteering Board Director of Transparency International PNG.
Akae is a Certified Practicing Accountant in PNG, a member of Institute of Internal Auditors ( Australian Chapter and Global Chapter), an Associate Member of the Tax Institute Australia, an Accredited Advisor for NZAID- Business Link Pacific Network and assessed by IBBM as qualified Business and Tax Advisor. She sits as a director on the boards of Capital Insurance Group Limited, Capital Life Insurance Company Limited, Capital Insurance Limited ( FIJI) and the Board Audit Risk and Compliance Committee.
