Jeremy was appointed to Group Chief Executive Officer effective 23^rd of September 2021. Jeremy brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in insurance and leadership, gained from working within PNG and abroad. He has a strong technical, commercial, and leadership background with more than 20 years of insurance industry knowledge across a broad range of disciplines in both life and general insurance abroad and locally. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Norton previously held the position of Group COO at CIG. He was also Regional General Manager for Tower Insurance Pacific and has held other senior executive roles in the insurance industry.

Tichaona Mukandi was appointed Group Chief Financial Officer in June 2021. Tich brings a wealth of experience in technical accounting, audit, finance operations and financial reporting to the group. Prior to this appointment, he previously held the position of Audit Director at Deloitte, Papua New Guinea and has acquired over 14 years of combined experience in professional services and commerce, working across various sectors in Australia, Papua New Guinea, Zimbabwe and Timor-Leste. Tich is a Chartered Accountant and has a Bachelors Degree in Accounting from University of South Africa. He is currently a member of CPA PNG and the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.

Mr. Koisen is the non  – executive Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Capital Insurance Group. He is currently the Group CEO of Teachers Savings and Loan Society Limited and a non – executive director on the Board of Tisa Community Finance Ltd. He has served on various boards which include – Kumul Consolidated Holdings, Credit Corporation, Airlines PNG and National Airports Corporation. He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a Fellow of the Australian Mutual’s Institute, a Senior Associate of the Financial Services Institute of Australia. Mr. Koisen brings with him a wealth of business experiences and knowledge

Sundar Ramamurthy was the Founder & Managing Director of Data Nets Limited. Data Nets Limited was the largest ISP and computer networking company in the Pacific Islands covering both PNG and Fiji. Sundar has significant international experience in Asia, Australia, U.S. and Pacific Markets. Developed and gained considerable experience in dealing with diverse cultures, languages and markets. Following the sale of Data Nets to the Digicel Group in 2010, Sundar was engaged by IPBC (now KCH) for the National Transmission Network in 2012, prior to taking his role as Group CEO to turnaround bmobile-Vodafone in the mobil emarket in PNG and Solomon Islands in late 2013 following the recapitalisation of the company by the PNG Government in mid 2013. He completed the turnaround by early 2017. He is now involved in funding and mentoring new startup ventures, with a focus on new technologies in the mobile banking, secure payments environment and affordable solar markets.

Mark Vele was appointed as a non-executive director to the board of Capital Insurance Group in June 2020. He brings with him over 30 years of experience in general insurance having provided leadership and management in underwriting, loss adjusting, reinsurance and broking across the Pacific including Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, and Fiji.  He also brings to the board strategic leadership as he is a commissioned officer for the Australian Army and serves as an insurance broker and advisor to corporate and commercial businesses, SMEs, and industry groups. As a former member of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIF), Mr Vele adds a great wealth of knowledge and technical expertise of the insurance industry to the board.

Mr Woolcott has over 20 years of experience in the accountancy and finance industry. He was appointed as a new director to the board of Capital Insurance Group in November 2020. He is currently a member of the Certified Practising Accountants of PNG (CPA PNG), a member of the Certified Practising Accountants of Australia and the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD). Over the years, he has worked as a senior accountant and CFO, chairman of an audit and risk committee, and a director. He holds a bachelor’s degree of Accounting and Business Management from the University of Sunshine Coast.

Moses has been appointed to the Board of Capital Insurance Group Limited on 22 August 2022 having an extensive background in Law and holds a Masters of Law obtained from the Monash University of Victory, Australia. He is also the Principal Owner of Albatross Law firm.

He had served on various boards which include Maybank, BCL Savings and Loans Society, Comrade Trustee Services Limited, MTSL Toyota Tsusho (PNG) Limited, and TISA Community Finance Limited. Mr. Koiri brings a wealth of law and business experience and knowledge.

Des is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Pacifund, a financial services firm. He is also President of the MSME Council Inc. and a Councilor with St. John’s Ambulance.

Des has accumulated a wealth of skill, knowledge and experience over 15 years in all sectors of corporate management, from Accounting to Audit, Corporate Affairs to Operations, Product Development, Sales and Marketing and Executive Management. He has mastered financial modelling and Credit management from years in the Banking sector. He has experience with managing Government, State Owned Enterprises, Statutory Authorities relations including Foreign Diplomatic relation (foreign missions), Suppliers and Customers.

Des holds a Bachelor of Business in Management & Accounting from the Pacific Adventist University, a Post Graduate Diploma in Finance and is working toward his Masters in Business Administration. He has also a full CPA and has completed PNGID Director Courses.

Ilaivaha has nearly two decades in the local insurance industry with few years in the broker business. Ilaivaha has a Bachelor of Arts (BA), in Management and Public Administration from the University of South Pacific. She is also a keen supporter of Tongan Women’s Rugby and is an active contributor to programs that add value to the local Tongan communities.

Thelma has 14 years of insurance experience. She is a Senior Associate and has a Diploma in General Insurance and Risk Management from ANZIIF. She is the vice president of Vanuatu Netball Association and provide support to women associations within the local community. These includes – Women and Girls in ICT, Women and Girls Network. Most recently Thelma has set up a new Women’s group LeiFenuah N’vate to help communities access vital services.

Mele Numa is the Head of the Marketing & Growth department. She joined Capital Insurance in 2015 in the Solomon Islands as the Relationship Manager with prior roles in the banking and private sector in the Solomon Islands.  Mele has a bachelor of arts degree in Law and Politics from the University of the South Pacific. She is also an alumnus of the Women in Leadership fellowship under East-West University and is a member of the Global Leadership Interlink network. Mele is passionate about community development and ethical leadership. 

Ms. Alofa Aiva Ekivaki has an extensive background of over 30 years in various professional roles. She has worked as a career diplomat for PNG, a private legal practitioner, a barrister and solicitor, and a former Fiji Resident Magistrate. She is skilled as a mediator and has worked as a political analyst and consultant in business, trade, and investment facilitation between Fiji and Papua New Guinea and vice versa. Ms. Ekivaki was appointed as Company Director of Capital Insurance Limited, Fiji in 2022.

Ms. Ekivaki holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of the South Pacific (USP) in Fiji, as well as a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management from the same institution. She also possesses a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the University of Papua New Guinea, along with a Certificate of Admission to the Fiji High Court in the Republic of the Fiji Islands and a Certificate of Admission to the National and Supreme Court of Papua New Guinea. Additionally, she has a Certificate of Legal Training from the Legal Training Institute in Port Moresby, NCD, Papua New Guinea.

Mr. Muralee Siva is a Senior Executive with more than 30 years of experience operating in highly competitive industries. As a successful CEO, he has a demonstrable track record in business transformation, forming and leading high-performing teams, and delivering successful outcomes to shareholders, while also reporting to fully functional Boards.
He has held a Non-Executive Director role in Capital Insurance Group for five years, where he served as an Audit Risk and Compliance Committee Chairman. Additionally, he has taken on accountable officer/director roles in highly regulated industries such as insurance, aviation, construction, and telecommunications in Australia and Papua New Guinea. Finally, having worked and lived in Papua New Guinea since 1995, Mr. Siva has strong relationships within diverse circles in the country.

Edward, a seasoned insurance and risk specialist with 15+ years of experience, excels in designing robust insurance programs. As a Fellow of ANZIIF, he demonstrates expertise and dedication to the field. Outside work, Edward enjoys bushwalking, hunting, delving into family recipes, and exploring new destinations, feeding his love for travel.

Udu is an Insurance Professional with 22 years of experience in the industry. Prior to joining Capital in January 2020, He also worked for two of the biggest international Insurance firms – AIG and QBE. He initially joined Capital as the Underwriting Manager, before taking over the role of Head of Underwriting and Claims for both general and life insurance. Udu re-joined Capital as the Head of Portfolio and Reinsurance in April 2023.

Simba, Group Financial Controller at Capital Insurance Group Limited, has a rich background in insurance and auditing from roles at QBE Insurance (PNG) Limited and KPMG PNG. A Chartered Accountant with degrees from the University of Zimbabwe and the University of South Africa, he prioritizes mentorship and personal well-being alongside his career.

Azeema, with 15 years at in the insurance finance sector brings a wealth of knowledge to her role. Holding a bachelor’s in accounting from the University of the South Pacific, Fiji, she prioritises professional development. Richard Goswell, our Group Chief Operating Officer, brings over 16 years of insurance industry experience in Australia. Beginning as an intern at Allianz, he progressed through underwriting and corporate account management, later focusing on underwriting and claims risk assurance at QBE Group Head Office. At Ansvar Australia, he managed a unique casualty portfolio, specialising in faith, age, disability care, childcare, and education risks. Prioritising customer satisfaction and staff well-being, Richard was guided by the proverb “Give a person a fish, and you feed them for a day. Teach someone to fish, and you feed them for a lifetime.” Outside work, he enjoys family time, outdoor adventures, and sports like Cricket and Rugby Union. Richard holds a Bachelor of Commerce, a Masters of Insurance and Risk Management, and is a Fellow of ANZIIF.

David Ariff Chan leads Capital Insurance Limited (CIL) as Chief Executive Officer, overseeing Fiji, Vanuatu, and Tonga. With over 25 years’ experience across the Asia Pacific, including roles at ACE (now Chubb), Lumley General, HLA, Guild Insurance, Willis Towers Watson, Jardine Lloyd Thompson, and Gallagher, David brings expertise in insurance leadership. His vision emphasises innovation, responsiveness, and resilience, shaping CIL’s future. David’s collaborative approach fosters mutually beneficial outcomes, driving growth ambitions in the Pacific. Recognised for decisive leadership, he identifies opportunities and develops innovative offerings. Sena Bakar joined Capital Insurance in 2023 and serves as Group Executive General Manager Governance and Company Secretary. Sena brings an extensive wealth of international experience in governance and regulatory compliance, having worked as a corporate lawyer and company secretary since 2015, across various industries. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology, a Bachelor of Law degree, and a PLC certificate from the Ghana School of Law. She is passionate about women’s development and is an avid football fan.

Talita joined Capital Insurance Group in 2018 and is the Group Manager, People & Culture. Talita has over 10 years of experience in human resources management. Before joining CIG, she was the People Performance and Culture manager at KPMG PNG and Assistant Group Human Resource Manager at NCS Holding Limited. Talita holds a Bachelor of Business Management, from Divine Word University, Papua New Guinea with professional certifications from PNG Human Resource Institute.
